Evaluation of Mechanical and Wear Properties of Al 5059/B4C/Al2O3 Hybrid Metal Matrix Composites

There is a developing interest in efficient materials automobile and aerospace fields that involves the improvement of metal matrix composites (MMCs) with great properties which incorporate higher strength, hardness stiffness, better wear destructive resistance along thermal properties. This work deals evaluation mechanical newly developed hybrid MMC Al 5059/B4C/Al2O3 produced by stir casting method. The main aim was to evaluate various MMCs fabricated weight proportions ceramic particles (B4C Al2O3). An increase tensile strength surface observed but there decrease percentage elongation specimen. content composite samples made sample brittle (composite) from ductile (base metal).
